The Côte d’Ivoire Mining Sector Women’s Network (Réseau des Femmes du Secteur minier de Côte d’Ivoire – FEMICI) has carried out 08 studies on the state of play regarding the inclusion of women in mining projects.

These studies were presented to a number of stakeholders, including private mining companies, embassies, partner NGOs, ministries, etc.
The presentation was made by Christine Logbo, President of FEMICI.

The workshop to present FEMICI’s studies on the participation of women in Côte d’Ivoire’s mining sector “provided an opportunity to make advocacy, in particular for a clear and precise provision to be included to improve their participation, integration and representativeness in terms of jobs, access to markets and equitable sharing of revenues from mining activities”, said Christine Logbo. She expressed the hope that the future mining code of Côte d’Ivoire would include the phrase “Women candidates are strongly encouraged”.
