As a prelude to the 5th edition of the West African Mining Week (SAMAO), Ouagadougou hosted a pre-SAMAO training and experience-sharing workshop on the potential and development issues of the development minerals sector. Held from 26 to 27 September 2023, it was attended by numerous international institutions, delegations and experts in the field of development minerals.
The Pre-SAMAO ended on 27 September 2023. This was the first edition of the event, which helped to build the capacities of development minerals players in various fields.
This pre-SAMAO 2023 event was an opportunity for the organising committee to equip participants with the added value of Development Minerals (Minéraux du Développement). They learned about the environment, community relations and health and safety. One of the training curricula focused on the manufacture of standardised stabilised earth bricks. The players also benefited from experience-sharing on the challenges and opportunities of formalising and organising the Development Minerals sector.
