Bagass mine (Roxgold): 14% increase in annual production forecast due to higher grades

0

In the third trimester of 2023, the Yaramoko mine (Roxgold, Baggasi) produced 34,036 ounces of gold (1.092 tonnes) at an average grade of 7.72 grams per tonne. Compared with the same period in 2022, production is up by 25%, as are average grades, which are up by 24%. This information was published in a press release dated 5 October 2023 in Vancouver, Canada by Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. in its presentation of third trimester 2023 results.

According to the press release, the increase in production resulted not only from the higher average grades but also from the greater width of mineralisation encountered, which contributed 42% of the plant’s total feed.

As a result of the above-mentioned higher grades in the development and production areas of the mine plan, the Company has revised Yaramoko’s annual gold production guidance upwards from 92 to 102,000 ounces, an increase of approximately 14%. Gold production for the first 9 months of 2023 totalled 89,476 ounces (approximately 2.87 tonnes of gold).

Fortuna operates 05 mines, including 02 in West Africa (Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso) and 3 in Latin America.
