The aim of the 4th edition of the “Burkina Faso Mining Supplier Day” is to find solutions that will enable Burkina Faso suppliers to obtain contracts with mining companies and industries operating in Burkina Faso. The event is scheduled to take place in Ouagadougou on 7 and 8 December 2023 and will bring together a wide range of players, including professionals from the mining chain.
Organised by the Burkina Faso Alliance of Mining Goods and Services Suppliers (Alliance Burkinabé des Fournisseurs de Biens et Services miniers – ABSM), the 4th edition of the Burkina Faso Mining Supplier Day will be held in Ouagadougou under the theme: “Issues and challenges of local content governance in the mining sector in Burkina Faso“. The organisers see this event as a forum for sharing experiences and opportunities with suppliers of mining goods and services.
Organising these days should enable participants to seize business opportunities in the mines, learn about the texts of Local Content as well as the link with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), explore possible financing solutions, promote contacts between buyers and mining suppliers, but also benefit the localities affected.
For 48 hours, mining service suppliers, players in the mining chain and participants will benefit from panels on the central theme, B-to-B meetings, experience-sharing and stand exhibitions. Around 500 participants are expected to attend this year’s event, including national mining suppliers and potential suppliers, mining companies and their subcontractors, representatives of the public administration, the Burkina Careers Association, the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions of Burkina Faso, students and civil society organisations, depending on the themes to be discussed.
The Burkina Faso Alliance of Mining Goods and Services Suppliers (ABSM) is organising this event with the support of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries (MEMC), the Burkina Faso Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-BF), the Burkina Faso Business Centre (Maison de l’Entreprise du Burkina Faso – MEBF) and the National Council of Burkinabe Employers (Conseil National du Patronat Burkinabé – CNPB).
