Energy transition: Komsilga soon to have a 50 MWp solar power plant

Energie Plus company is to build a 50 MWp solar power plant in Komsilga (Kadiogo province, Centre region). This solar power plant construction project is the result of the signing of an agreement between the Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Simon-Pierre Boussim, and the Managing Director of Energie Plus, Serge Conseiga, on Tuesday 12 December 2023 in Ouagadougou.

A press release issued by the Communications and Press Relations Department of the Ministry of Mines states that the company Energie Plus and the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries have signed an agreement for the construction of a 50 MWp solar power plant in the commune of Komsilga.

“We have just achieved a major milestone in supporting the government in its strategy to increase the supply of electricity in Burkina Faso“, said Serge Conseiga, Managing Director of Energie Plus company.

According to him, the construction of this solar power plant will increase the supply of electricity to the people of Burkina Faso, and help the country to move towards sustainable development.

He added that the project would also help to boost the share of renewable energy in Burkina Faso’s energy supply.

“It’s a first step, we’re going to move forward and we hope to be able to complete this project in the coming months and bring electricity to the people,” said Serge Conseiga.

Energie plus is a company specialising in the installation of solar generators and photovoltaic panels, electric mobility solutions, HVAC equipment, thermal insulation and energy saving certificate services. It is based in Paris, France.
