Investing in African Mining Indaba 2024 will take place from 5 to 8 February 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, is expected to deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony. He will be joined by Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema and the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde. Each will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony.

The presence of the Zambian president is explained by his desire to revitalise his country’s mining sector while creating jobs and economic growth for the Zambian people.

This year’s event marks the 30th anniversary of Indaba. This year’s theme is : “Positive Reforms: A Bold New Future for Africa’s Mining Industry”. Indaba is Africa’s premier platform for reaching agreements and discussing mining issues.

Since 1994, Mining Indaba continues to be the most comprehensive gathering for investment, finance, innovation and transformation to support end-to-end value creation. This year’s theme is justified.

Given that the mining industry is in the early stages of reform, with advances in technology, health and safety, environment and exploration, etc, it was time to expose the real issues by describing the real barriers to investment in order to identify solutions.

Mining Indaba 2024 will be attended by more than 8100 participants, including 94 government representatives from 71 countries, 900 investors, 700 mining company executives and 470 junior mining company executives. Discussions will focus on the changes and reforms needed to move the African mining industry forward. Burkina Faso is represented by a delegation. Minesactu.info will bring you all the highlights of Indaba 2024.
