Who is Mamadou Sagnon: New Director of the Mining Cadastre

Mamadou Sagnon is the new Director General of the Mining Registry (DGCM). The appointment was made during the Council of Ministers of 21 December 2022 under the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries.

Who is Mamadou Sagnon?

The new DGCM is a geological and mining engineer. But before this appointment he held various responsibilities.

From April 2016 to December 2018, he was the Director of Geology at the General Directorate of Mines and Geology. His main mission was to coordinate the monitoring and control activities of geological and mining research.

From January 2019 to December 2021, he was promoted to Director of the Mining Cadastre at the General Directorate of the Mining Cadastre. From January 2022 to his recent appointment, he was in charge of studies at the Mining Cadastre.

Academically, Mamadou Sagnon holds a Master’s degree in Geology from the University of Ouagadougou. At the Teng Tuuma Geo-Service Institute, he obtained a professional Master’s degree in Exploration and Valorisation of Mineral Resources.

At NGIS Australia Ltd, he obtained a certificate in Geographic Information System before doing an internship at the same university.
