The Organisation for Capacity Development Reinforcement (ORCADE) held a training workshop from the 11th to the 12th of October 2022 on the Local Development Mining Fund (LDMF) at the town hall of Mogtédo, Ganzourgou province, for the benefit of stakeholders of the Orezone Bomboré SA mine. The workshop focused on the origin of the LDMF, how it is funded, its distribution keys, the projects eligible for funding, how it works and the structures involved in its management. The objective was to inform and raise awareness of the LDMF among local stakeholders of the mining company Orezone Bomboré SA. The training also addressed the issue of the 30% of mining revenues that must be reserved for the financing of projects benefiting women and youth. At the end of the workshop, it is clear that there was a great thirst for knowledge about the LDMF.

The training was attended by a delegation from the High Commission, the special delegation of Mogtédo, customary and religious authorities, representatives of women’s associations, representatives of youth associations and representatives of the various communities living near the Bomboré project.
