Simon-Pierre Boussim will face several challenges as Minister. The energy portfolio, which was attached to the environment, is now attached to that of Mines and Quarries. This fusion constitutes a great challenge in terms of coordination and management to face the energy deficit. He takes over the department at a time when the mining sector is experiencing a crisis caused by terrorist attacks which have led to the closure of several mining sites in research and exploitation.
