On 18 January 2023, the government granted the renewal of the industrial exploitation permit for the large gold mine of the company BOUERE-DOHOUN GOLD OPERATION (BDGO) SA in the commune of Houndé, Tuy province, Hauts-Bassins region.
The duration of the renewal of the mining permit is 5 years, including 2 years of actual mining. The other 3 years will be devoted to preparation, rehabilitation and closure of the mine.
The mining reserves are estimated at 1.75 tonnes of crude gold with an average grade of 1.8 grams per tonne and cover an area of 5.473km².
The estimated revenue for the state budget is 3 124 650 000 FCFA.
For the local development mining fund, a contribution of 405 078 960 FCFA is expected during the life of the project.
