The Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Simon-Pierre BOUSSIM, received the General Manager of Essakane SOLAR, Dr Emma Marie Blanche KANTIONO, and a delegation from WEST AFRICAN RESSOURCES on Tuesday 31 January 2023 in Ouagadougou.
First to be received, the General Manager of Essakane SOLAR, Dr Emma Marie Blanche KANTIONO came to present her structure to the Minister. Specialised in the production of renewable energy, it is based on the IAMGOLD Essakane site.
Following her, the delegation of WEST AFRICAN RESSOURCES came to thank the Minister Simon-Pierre BOUSSIM for the efforts made by his department to support them. On this occasion, many issues were discussed according to the Director of Corporate Affairs, Dr Christian OUEDRAOGO. These included the Kiaka project under development, concerns about the Sanbrado mine, local content, the security aspect and the prospects for the development of the mining sector and specifically their licence. “The Minister reassured us that the government is keen to improve security on the sites and we have faith that in the days and months to come, we will see a positive evolution in the whole sector,” concluded Dr Christian OUEDRAOGO.
