“The appointment of Renaud Adams represents the culmination of a thorough and rigorous search process conducted by the Board’s search committee,” said Maryse Bélanger, Chair of the Board.

“Renaud offers the rare combination of operational, strategic and capital markets experience, with a proven track record in leading a culture of safety, attributes that are essential to leading a global mining company today. The entire board looks forward to working with Renaud, who will provide the leadership necessary to guide IAMGOLD towards its goal of becoming a high margin gold producer,” she added.

Renaud Adams said after his appointment: “I am honoured and excited to lead IAMGOLD into its next chapter, and I would like to thank the Board for this opportunity. I admire the hard work done over the past year by Maryse, Maarten and the entire team to position the company for success. Today, the Company is at an exciting turning point, ready to bring the Côté Gold Project into production and begin mining what will be the next low-cost, large-scale, long-life gold mine in Canada. This is a mine that will be a model for mining in Canada and a transformation for IAMGOLD. This is a homecoming of sorts for me, after starting at IAMGOLD in operations. I am proud to lead a company that is firmly committed to the Zero Harm culture, a commitment to responsible mining that was established in my first year at IAMGOLD over 16 years ago.”

We look forward to working with Maryse Bélanger in her ongoing role as Chair of the Board”.
