GIJN has published the Investigative Guide on Organised Crime in Africa: Chapter 5 on Looting of Extractive Resources; An Investigative Guide on the Mining Sector, primarily for journalists. This guide was published by and with the support of the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN), an international network of investigative journalists sharing resources, investigations and opportunities.
This guide was presented at the 18th African Investigative Journalism Conference (@AIJC2022) in Johannesburg in early November 2022.

Author bio: Elie Kaboré has been an investigative journalist in Burkina Faso for 17 years. He is also the editor of the online newspaper Mines Actu Burkina, specialising in the mining sector. Author of several investigations on corruption, money laundering and illicit finance, Elie Kaboré is also a trainer at the Norbert Zongo Unit for Investigative Journalism in West Africa (CENOZO – West Africa).
