Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries: 11 new officials installed

The Director of Cabinet of the Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Yaya SANKARA, installed 11 new officials in their respective positions on 22 March 2023 in Ouagadougou.

This installation ceremony was marked by the entry of technical advisors, including Souleymane KERE, Kuilga Emmanuel YAMEOGO, and Mohamadi BILA, as well as mission managers Baba Ahmed COULIBALY, Oumarou MANDE, Ousmane BARBARI, W. Alexis DAKUYO and Hélène SARE/OUARE.

At the Technical Services Inspectorate, Mabourlaye NOMBRE retains his seat as General Inspector of Services (IGS). As for the former General Inspector of Mines, Djibril ZOUNGRANA, he is now the new Permanent Secretary of the National Commission of Mines and the Local Development Mining Fund (SP/CNM-LDMF). A structure in charge of the validation of the activities of the National Mining Commission and the follow-up of the Mining Fund for Local Development. And among the projects initiated by his predecessor, SP Djibril ZOUNGRANA, sees the need to have a sufficiently qualified team to analyse all aspects related to the validation of files. “The implementation of the recommendations of the Court of Auditors will improve the performance of this Fund”, he said.

Previously, Director of Energy and Mining, Zéphirin ZONGO has officially taken the reins of the Technical Secretariat in charge of Local Content and Investment Promotion (ST/CLPI). Among its missions are actions in terms of investment promotion, relaunching the process of operationalising local content, and monitoring the application of texts relating to the mining sector.

At the end of their installation, the 11 promoted officials appointed by the Council of Ministers on 10 and 16 March 2023, said they were aware of the work ahead of them.
