Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries: Who is Tousma Dodbzanga, the new Director of Legal Affairs and Litigation?

Appointed by the Council of Ministers on 13 April 2023, Tousma Dodbzanga was installed as Director of Legal Affairs and Litigation (DLAL) at the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries on 20 April 2023. This native of Bittou (Boulgou province) is a former student of the Petit Séminaire de Baskouré (Kourritenga) before studying public law at the University of Ouagadougou. He joined the professional school for the job of Education Counsellor at the Ecole Normale Supérieure of the University of Koudougou where he graduated as Education Counsellor.

Before his appointment to the post of Director of Legal Affairs and Litigation on 13 April 2023, Tousma Dodbzanga worked as a Senior Education Advisor at the Departmental High School of Garango, as a mission attaché in charge of legal, political and diplomatic affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office, as Head of the Regulation and Litigation Department at the General Directorate of the Mining Registry of the Ministry in charge of Mines, and as Director of Regulation at the General Directorate of the Mining Registry of the Ministry in charge of Mines.

Tousma Dodbzanga replaces another Lawyer, Research and Analysis Advisor, Alain Yaméogo. He will be responsible for pursuing the ongoing reform of the legal and regulatory framework of the mining and energy sectors.
