Community projects: Nordgold Bissa-Bouly in consultation in Guibaré

0

As part of its relations with its neighbouring communities, the Nordgold Bissa-Bouly mine held the first ordinary 2023 session of its departmental consultation framework on 27 April in Guibaré, which is home to the Gougré project in the province of Bam.

The first 2023 consultation framework, chaired by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Guibaré, Benjamin K. OUEDRAOGO, was attended by the mining company Bissa Gold, the Ministry in charge of Mines and Quarries, the Departmental Technical Services, traditional authorities and representatives of the socio-professional strata of the affected villages.

This was an opportunity for the Bissa-Bouly mine to take stock of community projects within the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

On the other hand, Anséokoum DABIRE from the Ministry in charge of mines and quarries presented a paper on the Local Development Mining Fund (LDMF).

This communication was greatly appreciated by the members of the framework, as it provided clarification not only on the principle, sources, distribution, bodies, eligible projects, use, management and monitoring of the LDMF, but also on the nuance between the latter and CSR. A topical issue between mining companies and the communities impacted by their operations
