#Iamgold_Corporation, which operates the Essakane SA mine in Burkina Faso, announced in a press release issued in Toronto on 10 July 2023, the publication on 10 August 2023, of its operating and financial results for the second trimester of 2023. The release will take place after the close of trading. “Senior management will hold a conference call to discuss operating performance and financial results on Friday, 11 August 2023 at 8:30 a.m. ET,” the release states. Archives of the conference call will be available on the Company’s website at www.iamgold.com for one month following the conference.
The Essakane mine, owned 90% by IAMGOLD Corporation and 10% by the government of Burkina Faso, is located in the north-eastern part of Burkina Faso, between the provinces of Oudalan and Séno. The site is around 310 km north-east of the capital, Ouagadougou. Essakane employs 2500 people, 97% of whom are nationals. The Essakane gold mine produces between 350 000 and 450 000 ounces of gold annually.
The publication of results is a stock exchange requirement. On 11 May 2023, Iamgold Corporation published its financial and operating results for the first trimester of 2023. As a reminder, IAMGOLD is a Canadian-based gold producer with operating mines in North America and West Africa. The Company is building the large-scale, long-life Côté Gold project in Canada in partnership with Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. with production scheduled to begin in early 2024.
