This Thursday 20 July 2023 saw the 8th edition of the ” CSR Café ” organised by the CSR Forum in collaboration with the 2IE Institute. This 8th edition, celebrating the decade of the CSR Forum, has been a platform for sharing experience, networking and presenting performance reviews. The theme of this year’s event is “10 years of the CSR Forum: what contribution can companies make to sustainable development ? ».

The 8th edition of the ” CSR Café” is being held to celebrate the decade of existence of the CSR Forum. For the President of the CSR Forum, Kalid Kéré. CSR Café is a springboard: “A brainchild of the 2IE Institute, it provides a framework for expression and the sharing of experiences on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development actions by organisations”.
He pointed out that this year’s edition was a chance to draw lessons from a journey that has lasted a decade. In terms of achievements, Kalid Kéré noted that the CSR Forum, through the establishment of a multi-stakeholder framework that brings together non-governmental organisations (NGOs), mining companies and subcontractors, enables these entities to discuss sustainable development initiatives.
For Facia Adeossi, Vice-Chairman of the CSR Forum and Head of the CSR Sustainable Development Unit, the expectations of this edition of the “CSR Café” are to facilitate the accession of new members to the CSR Forum and to encourage partnerships with the CSR Forum. He said that it was necessary to work on expanding the Forum so that more and more organisations could contribute to the sustainable development effort. According to him, the “CSR Café” is a communication and networking platform that was set up to complement the CSR Forum, which focused solely on the mining sector, and to open it up to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and other companies outside the mining sector.

For Dr Djim Damba, Director of Cooperation, Entrepreneurship and Continuing Education at 2IE, the anticipation of this 8th edition of the CSR is of great interest to all those involved: “The CSR Café can enable companies and local authorities to participate in and contribute to sustainable development”.
The President of the CSR Forum suggests that in terms of future prospects, “the Forum intends to strengthen all the mechanisms that currently exist to accelerate companies’ contribution to sustainable development”. With this in mind, the Forum already has a number of ideas. As part of the activities of this year’s CSR Café, the CSR Forum and Improv Group signed a partnership agreement.
