The press release issued on 2 August 2023 in London, Endeavour Mining presents the operational and financial results for the first semester of 2023 for the group. The press release sets out the results for each mine. At 30 June 2023, Endeavour Mining operated 4 mines in Burkina Faso, including SEMAFO Mana.
Production at the Mana mine fell from 44,000 ounces to 31,000 ounces between the first and second trimester of 2023 due to lower average grades processed and lower recoveries. Mana uses ore from its open-pit and underground operations at Siou and Wona. Recoveries fell in the second semester of the year due to changes in the ore mix, which included an increase in tonnes of ore from Wona. Production costs increased from 1,130$/oz in first trimester 2023 to 1,481$/oz in second trimester 2023 due to lower volumes of gold sold and a higher volume of open pit tonnes mined. In terms of the 2023 outlook, given the slowness of the new underground mining contractor at Wona, production at Mana should be lower, with production costs of between 950 $ and 1,050$/oz.
