As a prelude to the 5th edition of the West African Mining Week (Semaine de l’Activité minière en Afrique de l’Ouest – SAMAO), Ouagadougou hosted a pre-SAMAO training and experience-sharing workshop on the potential and development issues of the development minerals sector. Held from 26 to 27 September 2023, it was attended by numerous international institutions, delegations and experts in the field of development minerals.
The Pre-SAMAO ended on 27 September 2023. This was the first edition of the event, which helped to build the capacities of development minerals players in various fields.
At the end of this activity, which came to a close on 27 September 2023, the representatives of the delegations invited said that they had learned a great deal in terms of know-how.
They invited the organising committee to multiply similar initiatives and undertook to share their experience gained within their local community.
The minister responsible for mines, Simon Pierre Boussim, was represented at the ceremony by the ministry’s secretary general.
