The third trimester of 2023 was the first full reporting period for the Séguéla mine in Côte d’Ivoire, which had its first gold pour on 24 May 2023. The mill performance test was completed in August 2023. The Séguéla mine is now operating above nominal capacity. Séguéla is well placed to achieve its gold production target of 60,000 to 75,000 ounces in the second semester of 2023. This information was published on 8 November 2023 in Vancouver, Canada by Fortuna Silver Mines, which operates the mine.

In its press release, Fortuna reports that in the third trimester of 2023, mine production totalled 502 326 tonnes of ore, at an average grade of 3.48 grams per tonne of gold.

Cash cost per ounce of gold sold was 397$ for the third trimester of 2023, below plan, mainly due to grades and lower power and diesel consumption. Sustaining cost per ounce of gold sold was 788$.

Sustaining capital expenditure for the third trimester of 2023 consisted mainly of mine development. The first stage of grade control drilling was completed on the deposit. Construction of the access road continued as planned, with stripping and initial mining of the oxidised material due to commence this trimester.
