Fortuna Silver Mines has announced record financial and operating results for the third trimester of 2023. The announcement was made on 8 November 2023 in Vancouver, Canada. The main reasons for this performance were higher gold production at the Yaramoko mine (Roxgold Bagassi) in Burkina Faso and the start of production at the Séguéla mine in the Ivory Coast, which made its first full declaration during the third trimester.

Indeed, gold production in the third trimester of 2023 was 94,821 ounces, compared with 64,348 ounces in the second trimester of 2023. Cash costs per ounce of gold production were 814$, compared with 968$ in the second trimester of 2023.

Jorge A. Ganoza, President and CEO, said, “Fortuna delivered record production and financial results across all key indicators, driven by the contribution of our flagship Seguela gold mine for the first full trimester,” he continued, “Compared to the first semester of the year, the reduction in our sustaining cost, lower inflation, optimization initiatives across the business, and higher gold production at the Yaramoko mine due to new high-grade zones”.  Ganoza concluded, “As we move from a capital intensive two-year phase to strong free cash flow generation, we will prioritise strengthening our balance sheet through debt reduction and advancing high value opportunities in our exploration portfolio. We currently have eleven drill rigs spread across our properties, including three on the recently acquired Diamba Sud gold project in Senegal”.
