The 1st 2023 sessions of the tripartite framework between the State, mining companies and suppliers of mining goods and services took place on Wednesday 8 November 2023 in Ouagadougou. It was chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Mr Jean-Baptiste Kaboré. The aim of the meeting was to present the state of implementation of the recommendations of the last session in 2022.

The meeting was chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Mr Jean-Baptiste Kaboré.

The tripartite framework is a forum for meetings and exchanges between the State, mining companies and suppliers of mining goods and services. It was created by interministerial decree N°2023-15/MEMC/MEFP/MDICAPME of 05 April 2023. The tripartite framework is part of the implementation of the regulatory framework for local supply in the mining sector.

This first session was attended by some thirty players from the mining sector.

The day’s discussions focused first on the presentation of the state of implementation of the recommendations, followed by exchanges. Participants reviewed 17 recommendations made at the previous session. The general report on local supply was then presented.

At the end of the meeting, Jean-Baptiste invited the participants to formulate relevant recommendations with a view to improving and increasing local supply for the benefit of national economic players. He remains “convinced that thanks to the spirit of openness and cooperation that you will demonstrate in the discussions, we will be able to improve the local supply of mining goods and services”.
