Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. published its 2023 production results for the Roxgold Sanu (Bagassi) mine in Burkina Faso on 18 January 2024. Gold production reached 3.661 tonnes, compared with the upper forecast limit of 3.732 tonnes. Roxgold benefited from a high average grade of 7.16 grams per tonne.
According to the press release, the mine performed strongly, reaching the upper end of annual production forecasts.
As a reminder, in view of Yaramoko’s solid performance during the year, management had raised its guidance for the third quarter of 2023.
“Successful exploration and grade control drilling, in conjunction with underground development, has extended mineralisation on the western side of the Zone 55 mineralised structure. This has resulted in additional mining zones that have demonstrated wider and higher grade extensions of mineralisation within and beyond the existing resource boundary,” the statement said.
