The Togolese extractive sector will produce more than 114 billion FCFA in 2021. These figures come from a report entitled “Togo EITI Anti-Corruption Report” published by the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in December 2023. The report gives details of the quantity and value of each resource extracted in 2021 compared with 2020.

Data from the reports and work of national institutions involved in the fight against corruption in the extractive sector.

This data was used to identify and diagnose the risks of corruption in the value and decision-making chains of the extractive industries, such as contracts and licences, production, revenue collection, economic and social expenditure, state-owned companies and the supply chain, for clinker, limestone and phosphate ores. The report is accompanied by recommendations and a follow-up plan.

With 114.17 billion FCFA in 2021, Togo’s total production has improved by 7 billion FCFA compared with 2020. This is due to a net increase of 15.5 billion FCFA in phosphate production by SNPT.

Phosphate takes first place with nearly 72 billion FCFA, representing 64% of the production value. It is followed by limestone with 21 billion FCFA (19%) and water with 19 billion FCFA (17%).
