Togo’s extractive sector brought in a total of 19.84 billion FCFA in revenue to the public treasury in 2021. These are the findings of the “Togo EITI Anti-Corruption Report” published in December 2023 by the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). The report compares revenues collected in 2021 with those collected in 2020.

Togo’s revenues from the extractive sector are expected to improve by 2.31 billion FCFA in 2021 (19.88 billion FCFA) compared with 2020 (17.53 billion FCFA). The large-scale mining sector contributed 85% of this total revenue, or 16.88 billion FCFA.

The Commissariat des Impôts (Tax Office) and the Commissariat des Douanes et Droits Indirects (CDDI) (Customs and Indirect Rights Office) are the financial authorities that collected the most, with 8.97 billion FCFA (45%) and 5.84 billion FCFA (29%) respectively.
