FOOD FOR THE COMMUNITIES OF SABÉ

0

The populations of the North-Central region are facing a risk of food insecurity due to poor rainfall during the past agricultural season. The harvests were not good according to the actors of the field.

It is in this context of food crisis that the Bissa Gold mine accompanied the communities of Sabcé through a donation of food on Thursday 7 July 2022. As part of its Social Responsibility of the mine and as decided in a concertation framework, 100 tons of corn, worth 35,000,000 FCFA, were made available to the local authorities of Sabcé.

This quantity of food will be distributed among the social cases and communities impacted by the mine’s operations.

Mr. Sibiri NEYA, Prefect of the department and President of the Special Delegation of Sabcé, thanked Bissa Gold for the 100 tons of food that will relieve the communities of Sabcé during the lean season.

Food security is one of the mine’s priority fields in the implementation of its sustainable development activities. For Kayaba KABORE, Community Relations Manager of Bissa Gold, “it is an honour for us to make this donation, it is a support to our Burkinabe brothers, especially since last year was not fruitful in terms of harvests”.

The beneficiaries, like SAWADOGO Gombogo, are satisfied and welcome the donation with great gratitude.

The food donation campaign continues, and Bissa Gold through its Country and Sustainable Development Department is determined to fight, alongside the communities, against hunger.
