Between Senegal and Yelhy Technology Africa, it is a relationship of mutual trust. A relationship that dates back to 2011. The paving and construction company Yelhy Technology Africa continues to dress the capital Dakar with its “coat of paving stones”. With its location at the western end of Africa, on the narrow Cape Verde peninsula, Dakar is a sandy city with a high density per km². According to the mayor of the capital, Barthelemy Dias, during his visit to the plant, “the paving must be seen in all the arteries and public squares of the city of Dakar”. The paving project in Dakar (in Wolof, Ndakaaru) concerns all the streets and other public places in the city of Dakar (with a surface area of 83.7 km²)
For this new collaboration, the company Yelhy Technology Africa is awarded the works of landscaping, paving, lighting and securing of the Muslim cemetery of Yoff and the Catholic cemetery of Saint-Lazare de Béthanie. This change desired by the Dakar City Council is already being appreciated by the population even before the end of the project. The Muslim cemetery of Yoff is the only one still open for burials. The others are full. The paving of these burial places is therefore one of the priorities of the new mayor Barthélémy Dias. Work on the Yoff cemetery began on the 12th of May 2022 and continues to this day. As for the St Lazare de Béthanie cemetery, work began on the 9th of June 2022 and is also continuing. Unlike the other sites, the works on these sites are progressing methodically but will be held on time. More than 2,000 young people have been trained under this project.
Yelhy Technology Africa has taken up a great challenge by giving a new face to Dakar and continues to invest in its field of expertise. Today, the Dakar paving project has been a great success thanks to the audacity of the Dakar City Council and Yelhy Technology Africa, and these new projects for which it is responsible are proof of its expertise. It also proves that South-South cooperation is possible.
