Fortuna Silver Mines has completed the purchase of the Diamba mine in Senegal in September 2023. With this latest acquisition, Canadian mining company Fortuna Silver Mines, based in Vancouver, is now present in 03 West African countries: Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Senegal.
The Diamba project is at a very advanced stage of exploration and will go into production in the coming years. It is a highly valuable project for Fortuna Silver Mines, which expects to produce around 22 tonnes of gold.
In Burkina Faso, Fortuna Silver Mines operates the Bagassi underground gold mine, which will be acquired from Roxgold in 2021. In Côte d’Ivoire, it operates the Séguéla mine. This mine went into production in May 2023. The first gold was poured on 24 May 2023, and the mill performance test was completed in August 2023. The mine has gone into nominal production. Fortuna Silver Mines operates mines in South America in Argentina, Mexico and Peru.
